HIV Concern

Hey,
I had protected sex with a lesbian girl(I am a guy) and she was ending her period so there was some blood involved.  I was drunk so i didnt realize it but im freaking out right now because I didnt know the girl to well.  This was about two months and a week ago.  Im in college, so from about a week before the encounter until about a month after the encouter I was drinking heavily 3-4 days a week going out with the guys.  I got tested around 2 weeks after the whole ordeal because i had no idea about the window thing and the test came back negative.  I had feliculitis shortly after the encounter and was given medicine for it to take for 10 days, which during and shortly after that time I had muscle aches and some diarreha(The muscle aches went on and off and lasted until about 3 weeks ago, diahrreha went away as soon as a realized they were a side effect- from nerves).  The medicine(cephalaxin) said that this could be a side effect.  Time passed and I had some muscles aches, dizziness, tiredness and depression until about 2 weeks ago I broke out in a rash and had headaches and a soar throat(Around 2 months after exposure).  I went to the doctor and I had strep throat and an infectious spider bite.  Im now done with that medication(Amoxicillin and bactrim) and I still have a soar throat occasionally.  I have read that symptoms of HIV last for like a week and then go, also they occur shortly after infection??  If im sick this far after exposure, its safe to say that they are not HIV related??  I have a follow up test in 3 weeks, approximatly 3 months after exposure, but im going out of my mind and ive lost interest in going out and doing the things that i usually love to do.  Im thinking about how worthless my future is gonna be with only 20 years left and what not.

The only reason i have a reason to think that im really gonna test negative is that I asked a close friend of the girl and the friend said "Hell no, she doesnt have anything".  I dont have any reason to not believe the girl, but the thought still lingers in the back of my mind.  Mind you, I havent had: Swollen lymph nodes, diahrreha, vomiting, and a few other symptoms.  I have had: some diarreha, lots of muscle aches, some tiredness, some dizziness, a soar throat, some pain underneath my arm pits that lasted for a couple days.

I know what i did was a mistake, but im ready to move on, and if im infected id rather know so that i dont mind **** myself everyday until i get tested in 3 weeks.  Any reassurance would be great.
                 Thanks.

Anyone can develop oral thrush, but the infection is especially common in infants and toddlers whose immune systems aren't fully developed. In addition, babies can pass the infection to their mothers during breast-feeding.

You're also more likely to develop oral thrush if you:

Are an older adult
Have a compromised immune system
Use oral corticosteroids or antibiotics
Use a corticosteroid inhaler for asthma

The thrush could have been from excessive drinking, beer has yeast, it also changes the pH of the mouth.  It doesn't sound like oral leukoplakia as that is usually a ridged coating on the sides of the tongue that won't scrape off.  It is a precancerous condition, so if thats what it truly is, you should have your dentist check it out.  The symptoms could have been caused by too many late nights, too much alcohol, poor diet, and stress.  Google "effects of stress" and look at all of the "symptoms" that can be caused by stress.  It's crazy what stress can do to your body, and its all been scientifically studied.  Stress can really eff you up, to put it bluntly.  Relax, I bet if you actually do stop thinking about this and relax, all of your symptoms will go away!

Thanks, iwas just flipping out because im not a person that get sick at all, and since the encounter it seems like it has been being on and off sickness up until this point.  I guess it could be a poor diet and alot of drinking?  I also have a white coating on my tongue and the doctor gave me a medcation that didnt make it go away so he said that it was oral leukoplakia and had no relation to HIV because otherwise the medication would have made it go away.  Any idea why I would have had the symptoms though? (Muscle aches, some tiredness, dizziness).  I guess my mind could be playing tricks with me, but im just not the type of person like I said that gets sick alot or hooks up with random lesbians(Im very straight).

Your symptoms don't sound like ARS at all.  The happen between 2 and 4 weeks after exposure, not three months.  Why wouldn't you believe your doctor that it was just an infectious spider bite and strep throat?  Your risk was PROTECTED SEX.  That is the most important thing to keep in mind.  The only way you could have been infected (on the infinitessimally small chance that she had HIV) was if the condom broke (which you would know).  The vast vast vast (etc) ...majority of lesbians, assuming she was a true lesbian up until you, do not have HIV.  Unless they are IV drug users, it is unlikely that they would.  In any case, your risk was protected, you don't even need to test.  You would only be doing it for peace of mind, but you will have a negative result most definitely!
