HIV From Lancet

I got a 4th Gen Test yesterday at the Aids Clinic. It was negative, woohoo. However the lancet he used was in a basket that he just grabbed out. Should I be worried that it didn't get individually unwrapped? Could I have had a possible exposure if it had been previously used. I wasn't worried until I read online it can survive in a need for 6 weeks. Please advise. I saw him where gloves and individually unwrap the actual test. The lancets however were just sitting in a basket on the table.

You have NOTHING to worry about. Lancets used for blood tests come with a sealed cap that the phlebotomist must break or snap open before the sterile lancet is exposed. An experienced lab tech can do this very quickly which is why you missed it.

Your test was negative. woohoo, indeed! Now STOP looking for some way to question those results.
