Thanks for all the help. I was curious b/c I was tested at tstd.org and on their website printout, they list the test as an antibody EIA for HIV-1. However, I also received a copy of the Labcorp lab report, which lists the test as an ICMA HIV 1/o/2.
I called and asked the counselor at tstd.org whether the test included an HIV-2 antibody detection as well, and she said no.
The inconsistency is something that sparked my curiosity. Any suggestions?
P.S. And to all who may read this and tell me to move on, I'm not concerned with my results...I have accepted my negative result. I am just curious about something I don't understand. Thanks.
If you were correct in stating what test was given. Then I gave you what test they used. It's the only FDA approved test using Microparticle Chemiluminometric Immunoassay.
