HIV RAPID TEST

Hi there,

My boyfriend and I recently went and got tested at our local clinic...both our test came back negative. We had a Rapid finger ***** test done, and got our results in about 20 minutes. My last potential exposure was about 1 year and 5 months ago. I do not know much about the rapid tests, and was curious on the accuracy of the one we both just had...any thoughts appreciated!!
Thanks

Hey guys, thanks for the comments. I also had  standard HIV blood test done last week and today I got the negative results!! I guess it was just a little anxiety getting the best of me. I did some research and found that the only time there would be false negatives with the rapid tests, would be in the window period. Thanks again, yall rock!

You both are conclusively negative !

Yes, they are FDA approved test and they are used for diagnostic purposes so it is no different than the other antibody tests.

From what I understand those are very good tests FDA approved. Im kinna in the situation that you are in except I took the oral fluid rapid test..was nervous it may have been a false negative...however i re took the test and it was again negative so im pretty sure that you are fine indeed. my test was taken 2 years after potiential exposure. And just so you know everyone on here tells me that a false negatives can only occur if you test before your window period is up. Hope this helps alittle bit.
