HIV Risk, ARS and Testing

Dear all,

I have carefully read a lot of your and other experts postings in the last weeks. Yet, I cannot find peace of mind. I really appreciate everything you do, it helps a lot of people including me.

A little more than 7 weeks ago I had protected sex with a prostitute in Switzerland (Geneva). I know it is protected and therefore and I should not worry but I do...

I was a little bit sick a week later coughing and tired. Then I had a sore throat 3 weeks later (not sure if it was anxiety or actual sore throat). Now 7 weeks later I still have pain in my throat (only when I swallow my saliva though, when I drink or eat I am fine, it actually remove the pain for a few seconds) and I had diarrhea last night.

So far I have taken three Oraquick Advance (oral swab) home kit test:

At 4 weeks: negative
At 6 weeks: negative
At 7 weeks: negative

Yesterday I went to get tested with a 4th generation antibody test as well as a RNA test.

So my questions would be:

1) Did I have any risk whatsoever?
2) What do you think on my symptoms?
3) What do you think of the oraquick advance test? I read 12 weeks in conclusive but 6-7 weeks are good indication, correct?
4) Will my new test 4th generation and RNA done at 7 weeks be 100% conclusive?

Thank you very much in advance.

Best regards.

1 u had no risk
2 symptoms are meaningless. Each individual gave different symptoms
3 90 is conclusive for oraquick
4 the combinaison of an Undectable RNA and another another antibody test negative after 1 month is considered 100% conclusive by most specialist (not official and because of $ and high % of false positive in RNA). Trust ur coming results. Do not expect any change!
