HIV Risk

Dear Dr,
Three weeks back I had as sexual encounter with a local escort and later got to know that she was HIV+.
I had a blow job from her and later on had vaginal sex, this was a sexual act with full protection, condom did not tear and my semen was intact in the condom after ejaluation and there was no exchange of body fluids,I did not give oral sex nor did I touch her vagina with my hands, for extra saftey I made here wear me a new condom after my blow job so that there is a fresh condom for vaginal sex.The whole encounter lasted for just 10 minutes.

Pls let me know if I am at risk of contacting HIV,I am having sleepless nights after knowing that she was positive,I keep consoling myself that I used protection.

Pls let me know your view points.

You can go online and find local resource centers near you that do free testing on certain days of the week or month.  I would start with your local AIDS Community Service organization.  But to tell you the truth, based on your info, the test is a waste of time, you were not at risk.

The acts you performed are about as safe as you can get, in terms of actual intercourse. Protected sex is just that - protected. At no time were you at risk of contracting HIV from the encounter you describe. And if this encounter is your only HIV concern, then you are losing sleep needlessly.

Testing is unwarranted in this situation. Of course, if it makes you feel better, test at 3+ months from the date of the encounter, and collect what will undoubtedly be a negative result. Just keep in mind that it is, in all honesty, a waste of resources for the medical provider, and a waste of money for you. Be well.
