HIV Self Diagnosis
Unfortunately I've done a lot of reading and I've been told only an HIV test can accurately diagnos HIV ... However, my logic seems to add up ....
I am at HIGH RISK ... my condom slid off while having vaginal intercourse with a girl i met at a club in china ... who incidentaly turned out to be a sex worker
I payed very close attention to my body thoughout this time and noticed could not connect any of my symptoms to anything other than HIV exposure
2 weeks later:
-All glands in my groin area swelled including my prostate gland [most noticable] prostate remains swollen
-Burning sensation in groin lymph node area
So then i read, with HIV all your lymph nodes would be swollen
-2 days later lymph nodes under my armpits swelled and i felt presure [went down after 4 days]
-2 days later lymph nodes in my neck swelled [remained swollen]
-2 days later lymph nodes behind my ears swelled [went down after 1 day]
-1 day later rash on the palms of my hands [small red spots]
-1 day later numerous small white spots on upper lip
-small white on my upper lip [white spots inside my mouth as well but i have had these throughout my entire life]
-prostate remains uncomfortably swollen
seeing this progression and calculating my high risk accident i can't think of anything other than acute HIV that would cause these symptoms ... no discharge or sores that would suggest another infection .... im just waiting for the flu-like symptoms to kick in .... i'm hoping my logic is wrong but it rarely is .... high risk accident + HIV symptoms = HIV infection .... i'm getting tested tommorow .... any thoughts?

i have had three unprotected penetrations with three different women whom i do not know their status'.The fisrt one hapened almost a month ago,the second three weeks ago the last 6 days ago.In all these instances i did not come.My reseach tells me the virus can penetrate even on the lining of the penis and i so scared having done this with three different pepole in just 1 and half month. I am even scared to get the results of tests i did yesterday ,i do not have acute symtoms as yet.Please help!!!!!!!
yes i've tested for everything ... everything negative .... but the pain / swelling persists .... this is why i'm worried
It takes 3 months to obtain a conclusive negative test result. You do not fall in the quidelines of someone who needs to test out further.
i was tested negative but it takes around 3 months sometimes 6 to know for sure so i could always turn positive ... that's what i'm worried about because my groin area and groin lymph nodes have remained persistently sore and swollen for the past 2 months .... with everything else negative i have a bad feeling it is HIV ...

its been 4 weeks now, just so afraid of testing.
developed a cough and sore/stiff jaw neck and ears after 11 days and have lasted till about three and a half weeks.
i guess i can take some encouragement from you.

back for an update ... my groin pain and swelling in the lymph node area has persisted for the last 2 months without getting better ... i was negative on all std tests after one month i'm going back to see my doctor very soon but i was wondering if anyone has heard of persistent groin lymph node swelling and pain being a Big problem??
For the last time, if you have a concern see a doctor. No one can diagnose you over the Internet nor can you diagnose yourself.
ok last question ... tested negative after 3 1/2 weeks and waiting for the 3 month conclusive .... my prostate, scrotum, and urethra remains sore and tender ... it's clear i have some kind of infection .... no discharge or open sores .... other than HIV, Gonorrhea or Clymedia are there any other possible things that could cause the type of symptoms listed here and above?? thank you for your thoughts

so you're saying one unprotected encounter with a sex worker, followed by multiple sypmtoms beggining in the groin area and working their way to my head and hands 2-3 weeks later should not even be a worry? .... i have seen the overreactive postings and i remain unconvinced as my exposure consistantly seems to be a little more severe than most of the others .... maybe it's because the people who test positive don't return to the forum once they recieve their results, ultimately making everyone here just anxious HIV negative worriers.... you seem to know what it is not, but it IS something .... regaurdless i respect the opinions of the forum ...
believe me...i've heard this same story from hundreds of ppl on this site. everyone thinks they have hiv...everyone thinks there is no other cause for their symptoms...everyone thinks their lymph nodes are swollen. read the forum...it's FULL of ppl just like you...same story...different name.
yes ... thank you for your optimism ..... i've remained quite calm throughout the whole ordeal .... so that kind of rules out stress .... i've noticed that people say these aren't symptoms of HIV infection but everything i've read says that these ARE symptoms .... it may help if someone could suggest an alternate cause for these symptoms .... my symptoms don't match any other STD's .... i rarely ever get sick, and i have had no injuries / bug bites other infections that would cause my lymph nodes to swell all over my body .... in my mind i have a cause + effect .... i hope you all are right .... but if you're not you'll have a pretty crazy exception to discuss with the next person with these concerns ... i'll return the results for everyones info

Your symptoms seem to me are more stress related than HIV. And your risk is not HIGH risk like you have said. Your risk is real, but is a low risk exposure.
You can go for a HIV test earliest 1 month after exposure and retest at the 3rd month for a conclusive result.
