HIV Test Post PEP - Is 11 weeks as good as 3 months?

Hey,

I have 2 questions, and hopefully my last 2 on here.  I had a high risk exposure in January with a HIV Pos man (unprotected insertive anal) and was on PEP within 11 hours.  Finished the full course and never missed a dose.  I was then tested on completion of PEP, 6 weeks after and then last week, 11 weeks post PEP, all negative.

1 - Is the conclusive testing 3 months post pep or 3 months post exposure ? I've read contradicting posts on this - whats the real answer ?

2 - If it's 3 months post PEP, would my 11 week test be close enough to count as conclusive ?

The reason I'm still concerned is I have an uncomfortable feeling under both armpits(not particularly painful) and 99% sure I can feel lumps, maybe like 5mm in size. I also have an occasional weird feeling under my chin, and I know this area is where lymph nodes are too.

Am I just being crazy? Never really had any anxiety issues now but ever since this event I'm not able to shake it.

Thanks for your time.

M

PEP is a special treatment, the assessment of which requires to be taken into consideration factors that only the doctor who prescribed it for you, knows.

Thanks.  Agreed, I will give them a call.  I'd still be interested to hear your opinion though as it seems to differ everywhere I look.

Hello,
You must consult your doctor to whom you proceeded in PEP.
Take care
