HIV-Test and HCV

Hello Doctor

Can a possible HCV infection change my HIV test results?:

Weeks-HIV1 / 2 AB and AG HIV/1-p24 after 5.5
Weeks-HIV1 / 2 AB and AG HIV/1-p24 After 9.5

In your opinion are the HIV Tests safe enough?

How safe is a Hep C test after 9 weeks?

Thanks and best regards

Welcome to this Forum. I see that this is a repeat of the question just answered on the International HIV Prevention Forum.  I agree completely with all of the answers you received at that site.  There is simply no way that you have HIV from the encounter you asked about.

Hepatitis C (which, as I understand it, there is no evidence you have and which you are not at risk for unless you have recently injected drugs or shared needles) is NOT an STD for heterosexuals.  It is rarely transmitted in the course of receptive rectal intercourse, typically between men who have sex with other men.

HIV test are safe, reliable, and their results should be believed.  you've been tested twice - you do not have HIV.

there are a few less data for hepatitis C than for HIV however most, but not all persons who acquired hepatitis C have positive tests at 9 weeks.  I doubt that you have it.

Hope my comments are helpful. EWH

Thank you for the reponse.

Sorry but I'm so scared!!

I understand you correctly:
Even if I had HCV (for example infected 2 years ago), my negative HIV tests are still safe to 100% and I don't need another HIV test?

*IT WILL BE CERTAINLY MY LAST QUESTION*

Thank you for the help.

Best regards
