HIV Test

As we all know ELISA or antibody test is the primary test taht is performed for HIV testing.If this is opsitive then comes WB.Is it possible that ELISA can give false NEGATIVE like false positive ?If yes what will happen then ?

I am sorry Teak but what if it happens ? It is a matter of someone's life. One false result can destroy someone's life.
I will shut up if u please answer this.
