You don't have HIV; your negative test proves that. If your liver enzymes are elevated, it's gotta be something else. Hepatitis, fatty liver, heavy drinking... lots of things. Do follow up on it. And if you weren't vaccinated for HBV, you should go ahead and do that now, too. Why take a chance?

HIV can mess up virtually anything, even your hearing

Too long of a wait for what?
Your test shows that you are HIV negative.
Were you vaccinated against Hep B?
Might be worth checking for that if you were not.

I am a male who has been with a few guys.
Had possible exposure 9 months ago, had ARS symptoms two weeks after and continued health problems. 4 months after that possible exposure, I was tested negative for HIV. Since then I have been with only one guy (only oral) but now have continued health problems; abdominal pain, diarrhea, dry eyes, dry mouth, weak, tired, etc. and had an elevation in only one Liver Function Test. The doctor scheduled an appointment a month later after the liver test, but I've had these symptoms for 6 weeks now. Is that too long of a wait? it is really affecting my work.

I've never heard of it, sorry.
Were you ever at risk for HIV?

Well, I haven't been feeling well at all for the past 6 weeks and had a blood test that showed an elevation in only one Liver Function Test. I have dry eyes and a dry mouth, along with other symptoms. Could this be Diffuse infiltrative lymphocytosis syndrome that affects HIV infected persons. Is this common?

It's interesting, I don't think it does, but I heard somewhere that liver enzymes are sometimes elevated during ARS...

It's the antiviral that affects the liver. That is why with every blood test they do a liver enzyme test along with several other tests for those that are on meds.
