HIV and Candida? The link?

Hello guys,

Im very worried about my health.  I recently had an Endoscopy and they found Candida in my Oesophagus.  Everything that i google says there is a strong link to this, and HIV.

My last exposure was 10th April with a Cambodian girl, i then got a DUO test in the UK at 5-6weeks and it came back Negative.

So has been 6months.  Maybe my test was wrong? How long can it take for the HIV antibodies to damage the immume system?

Thank you
