HIV and Herpes

hey teak

i have a question is HIV antibodies and Herpes antibodies same?

if antibodies appear in a HIV test that means its positive and the person is HIV+ but what if that antibodies were for herpes...

if antibodies are the same how do people know if they are getting the right test, becasue even herpes is like HIV.?

most people here only talk about hiv and ONLY test for that..!!!WHAT about herpes then? shouldn't everyone get tested for both?

If you had a risk of contracting HIV by unprotected sex common sense tells you that you have also exposed yourself to other STDs doesn't it. Other STDs are a lot easier to contract than is HIV.

NO. Herpes antibodies will not be detected on an HIV test.  The reason no one talks about other STDs on this forum is because this forum is HIV Specific. MedHelp has a Herpes Forum and STD Forum.
