HIV and blood type

Is it true that if your blood is type O you won't contract HIV?

No.  Either someone is infected and they're not.  You can't be a "carrier" of HIV and not be infected.  Anyone who is infected can transmit the virus to others via:

1.  Unprotected vaginal or anal sex
2.  Sharing IV drug works
3.  Mother to child

Does it happen that the HIV enters the body and stays inactive? If so, are those people able to infect others?
