HIV and oral sex

How is it that people on this site are so easy to say that oral sex possesses no risk for HIV? How could you be SO confident that it is NO risk? Other sites, even the CDC, says there is a risk, even if it is low. Everything I've read here says that any type of oral sex is not risky behavior in terms of HIV. What about ejaculation in the mouth? Is that still NO risk? I understand that there is no documented case where someone got HIV from just oral sex. But isn't it true that if someone who is HIV+ and has engaged in multiple sexual activities, they'll document that the transmission was due to the high risk exposure? Then, how could they be SOO sure that it WASNT the oral sex?

I'm just curious to know because I've put myself in the situation by performing oral sex on an a person who ejaculated in my mouth, but i didn't swallow it..

* Anyone who continues to post excessively, questioning a conclusively negative result or no-risk situation, will be subject to action by MedHelp. Conclusively negative results or a no-risk situation will be based upon the criteria established by MedHelp’s doctors. Action will be taken as follows:
    * After excessive posting, a warning will be issued by MedHelp
    * Continuing to post regarding the negative result / no risk situation will result in a 3 day suspension
    * Continuing to post upon your return will result in a permanent ban.

Thank you to the both of you. I searched this site up and down, but all i saw in terms of oral sex was "no risk move on" So I wanted to see why everyone here said that. Other sites I looked at stated differently. That's all.. Im not doubting the people here, just questioning why it's absolutely zero risk (all types of oral sex).

Use the 'search' option available here. Secondly, don't debate if you don't have your facts right. None of us are here to debate, we are here to provide an opinion, we most of the time back our opinion with facts. However, you still are entitled to either believe it or not believe it as a right but if you get down to judgements, you'd be wasting our time. However, the fact of the matter still remains - none of us are at a loss. You're just wasting your efforts. We wouldn't say it, until we know it.

Goodluck!

i did. i stated my risk in the original post. unprotected oral with ejaculation. I already knew what you would tell me  from what i've read in the other posts. "no risk..move on" so instead of asking what my likelihood of getting HIV from this was, I asked why is it that likelihood.

You never asked a question about a risk, you want to argue why we say what we say.

i thought you people were here to help others in need. telling us to "move on" just makes things worse. if you don't want to help, its fine. I'm sure others will be kind enough to help and answer my questions. thanks

aren't other doctors going off the same studies and research information? how do they deduce a low risk but the doctors and experts on this site say zero?

Yea, I ran into this post a couple of times when looking through the forum, but seriously..0 risk? I'm not doubting the words of these experts, but how can they be so certain that the oral sex was in fact the way a HIV+ person contracted the HIV and not the anal/vaginal sex?

There is no debate (among experts) about the HIV risks associated with oral sex. The risk is so low that almost nobody who cares for HIV infected patients has ever had a patient believed to have been infected that way. Among experts, it's a semantic issue about using terms like "no risk" and "very low risk". There is no difference between my or Dr. Hook's use of "low risk" and other experts' "no risk".
DR. HANSFIELD

"And oral sex is basically safe sex -- completely safe with respect to HIV and although not zero risk for other STDs, the chance of infection is far lower than for unprotected vaginal or anal sex. Please educate yourself about the real risks. If you stick with oral sex and condom-protected vaginal or anal sex, you have no HIV worries and very little worry about other STDs. " DR HANSFIELD

"I am sure you can find lots of people who believe that HIV is transmitted by oral sex, but you will not find scientific data to support this unrealistic concern..." DR HOOK

"HIV is not spread by touching, masturbation, oral sex or condom protected sex."- DR. HOOK

in the public HIV Prevention forum of MedHelp, TEAK and the other moderators maintain that oral sex in all forms is a zero risk activity. Would you agree with this assessment?
I TOTALLY AGREE / DR GARCIA

"HIV is not spread by masturbation, through oral sex, through kissing or other casual contact." Dr. Hook

"The observation on thousands and thousands of observations is that HIV is not spread by oral sex (of any sort)." DR HOOK
"I would not say your risk ,if he had HIV is "slim to none"- that's too high.  I would say they are effectively zero.  How much of his ejaculate or other gentialsecretions you may have swallowed makes no difference.  EWH "

I did search the forum. That is how I got all the information that I did and what people tell others on here. If I felt so confident, I wouldn't be posting a question. All I want to know is how you can be SO confident in the NO risk for oral? with and without ejaculation? I've read MANY comments where you, Teak, tell people oral sex (even with ejaculation) is "ZERO RISK"..explain how you come up with a 0.00% risk..please.

thanks

I was thinking about the same thing, some ppl here seem to be over optimistic sometimes. Including oral risk, condom risk. They are low risk, but theoretically are not 0-risk activities. I want to know if there was any documented case where ppl contract Hiv through condom(without breakage) and oral
