HIV from spit?

I was wondering if i could have HIV. I was talking to someone (HIV status unknown) and he spit on my lip, possibly in my mouth too i dont know. I wipped it off immediately, but could some microscopic amount have made it into my mouth and infected me? am I paranoid?

One last thing, what if i had been biting my lip and there was an open cut, or if i had been biting my cheek? Both are very possible. And why are you guys so sure your can't get HIV from blood in spit when you can get it from blood normally?

It does not matter. You had no risk. The blood would not survive in the few seconds the saliva was between his body and yours. Think about it. If HIV could be transmitted through saliva, sweat, urine, etc., everyone in the world would have it by now. HIV is difficult - I repeat, difficult - to contract.

Zero risk exposure.  HIV cannot be transmitted in the manner you describe.
Best wishes,
