HIV risk assessment

HIV risk assessment

Hi, about 1 month and 14 days ago I had an exposure. I went to Romania and saw a prostitute, she wanted to roll a condom on me for sex, I declined to have sex and took off the condom. She then touched my penis with her mouth 3 times whill I was mast* for about 10 seconds each time using her lips, I am uncercumsized. I also asked her to turn around and touched her vagina with my finger, placed it in for about 10 sec a few times. I proceded to mast* with the hand I touched her vag* about 5 sec later. Then i finished on the ground on my own. I would like to know what my risk of HIV is from this event, I have a wife and a smal breast feeding baby and relize that this was wrong and should not have done it. I would like to also know if it is safe to have normal sex with my wife after this incident. 1 month after the event I had 3 canker sores one after another on my lower lip and at 1 month and 14 days had food poisoning threw up and a breif fever. I dont want to put my wife at any risk, need to know what to do. thank you in advance.

Your risk of having gotten HIV is very, very low.  Your only meaningful exposure was when she placed her mouth on your penis.  The risk for oral sex, if your partner had HIV is less than 1 infection in 10,000 exposures and some experts think that this assessment is too high and there is really no risk at all.  In addition, since it was her idea to use a condom, I suspect her reason for suggesting a condom be used was because she was not infected and did not want to get infected by you, not to protect you.  While we cannot call their 100% safe sex, it was very, very low risk to you.

There is no risk to you from touching her vagina with your finger and then using that hand to masturbate.

Your canker sore and other symptoms are not indicative of HIV and are nothing to worry about.

Given the very low risk of your exposure, I would suggest that you get tested at 6-8 weeks after your exposure.  At that time well over 95% of infection which would occur after such exposure would be detected by the blood test.  When the test is reported as negative, given the low risk circumstances of your exposure, you can be sure that you did not get HIV.

Hope this helps.  EWH

Relax, your exposure would be very lower(1:10000). I suggest you use protection sex with your wife before rule out. Go to take test now and at 12 weeks also to check any STD, In my mind, you would get negative result.

Dear Dr. you say that from oral sex the risk is very low 1:10000, is it considered oral sex when she touched the tip of my pe* with her lips for a few seconds. Also you say to get tested at 6 to 8 weeks, however i am sitting at 44 days at the moment, would an Antibody test at this point be absolute, or should I retest or wait longer for a 100% answer. The reson for my asking is I dont want to expose my wife to any risk.

Also there was a small incident where I mast* in my room at home and a few hours later my baby came crawling in that area where i had previously cu*ed, I did not clean up. She had a blister that was broken on her finger exposing a small part of it.

Thank you,

You are askijng me to repeat myself so I will, once.  Yes, oral sex is when your partner puts her lips on your penis.  If you ge tested at this time, given the nature of your exposure, you can be confident that you do not have HIV.
