HIV risk with HSV1

I have HSV1 on my genitals and I have a question.  If you have one herpes sore on the top of your penis which is cover by the condom, does that still put you at a greater risk of contracting HIV while having protected vaginal intercourse?

I had an encounter with an escort and I really didn't think much of the herpes sore becasue it was protected, but I am glad you can say that doesn't put me at a greater risk.  It was just the one sore on the top.
