HIV risks after having sex with a prostitute

by tonyca, Jun 08, 2007 12:00AM
I am going crazy with anxiety and not getting any sleep, I hope I can get help.  I am a 32 years old hetrosexual male, married, healthy, circumsized.  Two weeks ago I made a mistake and had sex with a prostitute at her house.  When I arrived at her house, she started giving me a massage, then she put a condom on my penis and then she put my penis in her mouth for a couple of minutes, then I put it in her vagina for about 1 minute until ejacualtion, then I withdrew after ejaculation.  I am really concerned about getting HIV from this incident.  Before I had intercourse with her, I tried giving her oral, but she refused and said that she doesn't know how clean is my mouth, also during intercourse she refused to do it from the back (not anal, but vaginal) and she said that she doesn't know me that well and that maybe on the next visit she will let me do it from the back.  Also, right after ejaculation, she took off the condom and used antibacterial wipes to clean my penis, she also used antibacterial wipes (not the same one she used to clean my penis) to wipe her vagina.  I think that she is clean because she wouldn't let me perform oral sex on her, also because she wouldn't let me do it from the back (vaginal not anal), but you never know with people in the sex trade.  The incident occured 2 weeks ago and I have no symptoms, but I am really concerned.  I married and I feel guilty and can't stop thinking about it.  I've been trying to avoid having sex with my wife because I don't want her to get the virus from me in case I picked it up from the prostitute.  Your help is greatly appreciated.  Thank you.

You had protected sex--no risk.

And quite honestly, you must have picked the sex worker at the least risk of ANY STD. I don't know anyone who would avoid receiving oral because she didn't know how clean YOU are, or use antibacterial wipes, or tell you she doesn't know you well enough to let you have sex doggie style(?). Interesting. I don't know how you could have safer partner sex and still have a partner.
