HIV scare, please help!! Im reallly scared.

Hello, I had unprotected vaginal sex 4 Weeks ago, I have become addicted to the idea that I may have contracted HIV, ive been really stressed and anxious and these past four weeks have been hell, I haven't been able to focus on anything at all, i tested for Chlamydia and gonorrhea and was negative, the doc checked me out twice and said i didnt have anything else, but to take the HIV test in 2 weeks at the 6 week mark, but he told me there was nothing to worry about as the chance was really small, approx. Less than one percent. I haven't had any symptoms but this week i got sort of a sinus infection, my ears have been clogged for about 5 days, im taking zyrtec, the only thing that scares me about this is the fact that ive never had any sort of sinus infection ever. The anxiety itself has caused me so much trouble. With shortness of breath and acid reflux. The acid reflux gives me stomach pain, sort of a burning pain. I know i have to take the test at 6 weeks and i know i won't be sure til then, but can the result change after 6 weeks?! The woman said she was clean several times. I just want to know you guys' perspective on my situation, i had a very small shaving cut on my penis before the sex, but all my friends are telling me im ok, even the doctor said he wouldn't worry about it, but for some reason i just feel like i should have this because i did something wrong, and by the way i was a virgin, she was my first. I let everyone who knows me and respects me down, please no ignorant answers, this is serious, thanks for any answers, i really really appreciate it! You dont know how much it means. Based on what im telling you, what do you think?! And everyone keeps telling me Im ok but how do you know?! or suspect that im fine. Thanks again. God Bless!

do not wait if you are so worried. bring the person you had sex with for test.
if she is negative, you can be sure that you are negative since it was your first sex.

Ok, if you had unprotected sex then you have had a risk and need to test. In your favour is that the transmission risk from female to male is lower than male to female. You can initally test at 6 weeks for a very good indication and then again at 3 months.  The average time for detectable antibodies is 22 days and most people who are oging to test positive will do so by 6 weeks, however, for a conclusive you do need to test again at 3 months.

None of the symptoms that you are experiencing are HIV specific and sinus infection and clogged ears are not a part of the ARS.  That said symptoms or lack of symptoms are no way to know your status only a test can tell you that.

The cut on your penis is totally irrelavent and not something you need to be thinking about.

I hope you will come out of this negative and in the future use condoms correctly and consistently to remain HIV negative.
