HIV symptoms???

im a 33 yr old female and had unprotected sex with a male taht i did not know- this occured March 2006.  I know this sounds silly but i never had any symptoms such as sore throat, fever, rash, swollen lymph nodes etc.  HOwever i did have leg cramps and continuous headaches for a while. I was tested at 30 days and results were negative. HOwever i cant help but wonder if i wasnt in the clear. do you think my 30 day test was ok?  some other things that have been going on since last March are headahces, pains in my underarms, small bumps on my head (only painful if i pick at them) and ive had bad breath. i know gross!  but anyway- do you think any of these are symtoms of HIV? also about a month after exposure i noticed my menstrual blood was darker than normal and its been this way ever since. i have read where darkening of menstrual blood is a common symptom for women. but do you think it could occur so soon after exposure- 30 days?  any advice would be appreciated- im hoping that you will all just tell me im being silly!!

i just read somewhere online- it was an article for Woman with HIV- it just stated that the first signs of HIV in women are gynecological. like abnormal pap smears, yeast infections and then said some women experience darkening of menstrual blood or no periods at all.  so of course i freaked out a little bit. i know i need to get another test just to ease my mind but i  guess im just real scared. i have 2 kids, a husband and its all just so scary.

March of 2006?  If you're still concerned (which you are by virtue of the fact that you're here) take a test and find out.  A local clinic can give you anonymous results in 20 minutes.

Alternatively, order a Home Access test and get the results over the phone (this is completely confidential).

articles like that seem to be more in womens magazines rather than peer reviewed articles. i guess is a possibility, changes in menstration can also be hormonal, like changing bc pills or some sort of hormonal change. yeast infections occur, sometimes more frequently on some people with changes in ph balance.
pretty much any symptom that people have, if searched on the net, it will point to hiv..

a 30 days test is reassuring, but now you are way over the actual window, you are over 11 mos now. get tested, the risk of exposure is said for hetero is 1/1000- 1/2000. odds are in your favor. youll see all sorts of numbers here thrown, bottom line get tested, this will be conclusive.  good luck

I would think 30 days would be reassuring but just to ease your mind why not have an oraquick or eia? And you can put it to rest? What is all this about dark menstrual blood? Are you saying that is a sign of hiv? Goodluck and keep us posted!

30 days test (enzyme-link) is reassuring. Chinese experts says 98.5% of the HIV+ should be confirmed at this time.
