Hi there, we're going to close this discussion now. Thank you.

12 weeks IS definitely overly conservative for a DUO test. The only reason I'd test with a DUO beyond 4 weeks is if I had a high-risk encounter with a known HIV-positive individual. In many cases where you still see others saying "12 weeks," we often do not know which test was taken or which test is available to any particular individual. But, at 12 weeks, ANY test is going to be conclusive, so that is the safest of all safe answers.
Been sometime since I have written on Medhelp, but while I was writing and trying to help help people with their fears and worries; I spent a considerable time of my efforts trying to convince people tnat a 4th gen test (Duo) is conclusive at 4 weeks and over. I stopped writing because I felt I had no more to say on the subject (check my posts).
So I am saddened to see some people are still writing to say 12 weeks for Duo. It's not true.
A Duo test is 99.8% accurate at 4 weeks and over. In other words: conclusive.
4 week duo test is 95% accurate. So, be positive.
