HIV tests

I was just wondering what generation tests are used in the U.S today? What generation is an ELISA 1/2 ab, and rapid oraquick 1/2 ab finger prick test? I tried asking my doctor and all he said was that it was an antibody test.

3rd and 4th but it makes no difference anyway what generation a test is because if you are infected it will detected the virus no matter what.

I tested negative at 11 weeks with rapid. But I've been sick since Dec. 13,11. I've had headache, throat scratchy, earpain, no fever, joint pain in hands, stabbing muscle pain. And my husband has had a sore throat also but he was diagnosed with bronchitis. I've been to the doc twice and say my lungs are clear and nothing in ear. If this were ARS symptoms would the last over a month long? And wouldnt i have already tested positive at 11 weeks?

It will "detect" the virus I should have said.Look,in all reality a negative at 11 weeks is 99.99999% at 12 weeks it's 100% conclusive. You result won't change in one week.
