ok will do, but this actually did really happen.. i wouldn't waste your time if it didn't, so YOU CANNOT GET HIV THROUGH BEING stabbed by a PEN which has HIV+ blood on it.
"Just a brief thought came into my mind"
" i am so sorry but this question has been going through my mind the past hour.."
Those statements verify that this is a "what if" irrational question.
Now, reread the forum rules Teak has posted for you above. Kindly move along, you don't (and never have) had an HIV concern.
* Anyone who continues to post excessively, questioning a conclusively negative result or no-risk situation, will be subject to action by MedHelp. Conclusively negative results or a no-risk situation will be based upon the criteria established by MedHelp’s doctors. Action will be taken as follows:
* After excessive posting, a warning will be issued by MedHelp
* Continuing to post regarding the negative result / no risk situation will result in a 3 day suspension
* Continuing to post upon your return will result in a permanent ban.
nursegirl.. i am not dreaming up scenarios, I honestly just said what if because well I wouldn't call it denail, but I didn't want to accept the fact that happened with me.
No, it's a "what if", you said so your self. We deal with risk assessments for people who are concerned they might have had a risk. You're just dreaming up scenarios you think would be risks.
Please move on, or we'll have to report you to MH. Get yourself some help. Sincerely.
nursegirl6572.. i know this is anxiety, but I really want to know whether if this could be an HIV concern, its not an what if its just a scenario which I think can be quite common.
Cuts, scratches, pools, food, and now pens. If you can't see that you need some help, there's nothing more we can tell you. You don't have an HIV concern to be posting on this forum.
Seriously, enough is enough. You cannot come here and ask every irrational "what if" that comes to your mind. You need to get professional help for your obsessive thinking.
No because it's not hollow like a syringe where it can remain infectious where as a pen can't.You really don't need to worry anymore.Forget this and live life in peace.
thank you rainlover.. would a needlestick injury include the pen scenario above, including the theoretical risk.. because I am so sure that a pen can have blood on it and pierce through skin.
You can also add needlestick injuries in healthcare settings and blood to blood contact from gaping wounds,eg; car accidents--major trauma to the above list.
HIV is transmitted by;
Unprotected penetrative anal and/or vaginal sex
Sharing works with other IV drug abusers
Mother to child
The above is the only way HIV is transmitted.
these are posts which are quite realistic and can occur..
Not after you 30+ irrational posts that you already HIV.
ah..teak to be honest mate, a one sentence answer just makes me asks more questions.. a detailed or better explanation would help a lot <3
Seek professional mental help for your phobias.
Irrational thinking.HIV becomes inactive once exposed to air anyway.
sorry its really unclear.. so even if the pen has blood on it.. it cannot transmit hiv if it penetrates the skin? why is this.. is it because HIV cannot survive outside and transfer through environmental surfaces?
You cannot inject yourself with pen, Pens are not hollowcore needles and don't pose a risk.
Hi teak, sorry for posting again but isn't a pen some sort of form of needle as it has hollow parts which can store blood and isn't it similar through sharing drugs and needles used for them.. i am so sorry but this question has been going through my mind the past hour..so to correct what i said, someone has a PEN who pricks themselves (possible blood) or possibly an open wound where blood has transmitted through pricking someone else. Thanks again Teak, you are really helpful.
