This doesn't make sense now. I called the AIDS hotline in HK this morning. They said that there could have been secretions or blood that I did not see that might have touched my hemmaroids and therefore entered my body. They did admit the risk was small though. I don't know what to do with PEP now.
No. You never had an exposure.
HIV is transmitted by,
Unprotected penetrative anal or vaginal sex
Sharing works with other IV drug abusers
Mother to child.
One final question , does this matter if I was having hemmaroids and therefore there was an open point to my bloodstream?
HIV is unable to reproduce outside its living host (unlike many bacteria or fungi, which may do so under suitable conditions), except under laboratory conditions; therefore, it does not spread or maintain infectiousness outside its host.
I don't mean to be a pain but I don't understand why you are both saying no risk. She was in the bath tub with me. Any of her secretions were exposed to the water and then my hem aroids. I feel so helpless because I still have some time to get PEP.
I fully concur with Diver and please stop torturing yourself for no reason and accept the facts.
PEP is recommended under strict medical advice only when somebody had a real risk,,, Unprotected vaginal or anal sex with a known HIV+ partner.
Your risk is ZERO, I repeat ZERO regardless of her periodic cycle.
Thank you for replying so quickly.. I am worried because the prostitute might have been having her period, although I did not see any blood, or she could have had any kind of body fluid in the water. I had a direct opening into my body. I regret doing this with her and I think it is a real risk.
Isn't it better to be safe rather by taking PEP in case there is some small risk?
Zero risk my friend and you can relax now because Hiv becomes inactive as soon as it is exposed to air and therefore is unable to infect you.No testing is required and certainly not nPEP.Hiv transmission occurs inside the body not outside it.
Your situation doe not even demand for a test and you are talking about PEP, which is certainly out of question because you were never at any risk.
HIV can not swim in bath tub, so rest assured, they did not reach you :).
Your risk is simply non existent, you are safe
