Please can you give me some feedback on my predicament. Im travelling in Vietnam. Ten days ago I'd had a few drinks and on my way back to my hotel (Hanoi) I was appraoched by two gorgeous prostitutes. Im not very successfull with women and to cut
. Also I noticed the oral hygeine of the women was suspect but couldnt identify bleeding gums. I have know got a cold, (high fever, tempreture, headache et al) and am worried about HIV transmission. The concierge duly told me the following day that one of the women was known to be HIV positive.
As informed HIV advice is hard or near enough impossible to get hear in Vietnam due to the communication, language problems, please can someone tell me if im at risk of HIV infection with the circumstances I have described? And would the fact that there was two women performing oral sex heighten the risk of HIV transmission.
There is no debate (among experts) about the HIV risks associated with oral sex. The risk is so low that almost nobody who cares for HIV infected patients has ever had a patient believed to have been infected that way. Among experts, it's a semantic issue about using terms like "no risk" and "very low risk". There is no difference between my or Dr. Hook's use of "low risk" and other experts' "no risk".

"And oral sex is basically safe sex -- completely safe with respect to HIV and although not zero risk for other STDs, the chance of infection is far lower than for unprotected vaginal or anal sex. Please educate yourself about the real risks. If you stick with oral sex and condom-protected vaginal or anal sex, you have no HIV worries and very little worry about other STDs. " DR HANSFIELD
"I am sure you can find lots of people who belive that HIV is transmitted by oral sex, but you will not find scientific data to support this unrealistic concern..." DR HOOK
"HIV is not spread by touching, masturbation, oral sex or condom protected sex."- DR. HOOK
in the public HIV Prevention forum of MedHelp, TEAK and the other moderators maintain that oral sex in all forms is a zero risk activity. Would you agree with this assessment?
I TOTALLY AGREE / DR GARCIA
The observation on thousand and thousand of observations is that HIV is not spread by oral sex (of any sort). DR. HOOK
Thankyou for your the time and effort you took in your reply. Its much appreciated. When I posted my question I was going to sign off courtiously but two Western women came into the cybercafe I was in, SAT NEXT TO ME and I had to hit the post button sharpishly.
So regardless of the oral hygeine of the HIV infected woman and the cut I recieved you would infer that there is no chance of HIV transmission from my encounter with a HIV infected woman?
Many thanks for your kindness Lizzie and please keep up the good work. Your a wondergful shoulder!
