HIV transmission via finger *****

Hi, I recently became worried because I was thinking about my previous HIV test (which was negative after 3 months), I remember that the nurse did not change the needle in the finger ***** device (a lancet, maybe), because I saw her taking the lancet out (looks like a big pen), and did not change anything, while in my other HIV tests, I saw very clearly that those nurses have all changed the lancet (big pen)'s needle.

So, since HIV is known to be transmitted by sharing needles, will I get infected by this finger *****?

You didn't have a risk from getting and HIV test. NO CLINIC reuses lancets.

But everybody makes mistakes, nurses are human too... I remember I saw her using the lancet without changing the needle.

The only comforting thing is that it seems the needle in the lancet is solid (not hollow), so I guess the blood should quickly dry in the lancet case?

You can only use a Accu-check once. It will not refire twice without putting in a new lancet and it resets.
