The answer to your question is YOU NEVER HAD A RISK of hiv infection and we can tell you this a million times but unless you except this you will always be asking questions and demanding answers. For your own health and wellbeing you need to forget about this incident and get on with your life. You don,t have hiv,how many more times do you want us to tell you this before you believe it.

* Anyone who continues to post excessively, questioning a conclusively negative result or no-risk situation, will be subject to action by MedHelp. Conclusively negative results or a no-risk situation will be based upon the criteria established by MedHelp’s doctors. Action will be taken as follows:
    * After excessive posting, a warning will be issued by MedHelp
    * Continuing to post regarding the negative result / no risk situation will result in a 3 day suspension
    * Continuing to post upon your return will result in a permanent ban.

Stats schmats!!!

Seriously, you had a risk test. Its that simple.  You can't judge your risk based on stats you judge it on exposure.  You had one, you need to test.

For a conclusive result, you will have to wait for 3 months.

Look Teak is an expert on the subject of hiv and his information is always 100% accurate. What you must except now that its a waiting game until 3 months comes around.Stats mean nothing when diagnosing hiv.

You can worry if you like but worrying isn't going to help a thing, that is something you should have thought about before having unprotected sex. Sex last for minutes, but HIV lasts a life time.

So what your saying is testing at 1 month means nothing at all and I should continue to worry like crazy for the next 2 months until I can teat at 3 months right?

You're welcome. The main thing is to protect yourself first.

Thanks for your suggestion Teak. I was not aware of it all. Its a sad situation however since all I was trying to do is pass on the information that I have learned from experts such as Dr.HHH. I will also add a caveat for people to not completely rely on my information as I am not an expert. Instead, people should search the forum and look for information themselves.

It can if you get hauled into court. Choose your words wisely when posting in a medical help forum.

Really? I was not aware of that. Why would I get  a lawsuit when all I have done is provide statistics from expert and have repeatedly said that only 12 week test is 100% conclusive? Wow. So trying to help others comes with a cost?

You do know that if someone gets a positive results based on your replies you've opened yourself up for a lawsuit?

The fact is that around 90% of people turn positive at 4 weeks. Dr. Hook and Dr. HHH have said it countless times. You can search this form and read those discussions. Get tested at 12 weeks for 100% conclusive result, but meanwhile you can be confident that your result will be negative. Odd's are strongly in your favor.

I agree with you. Testing is necessary whether or not risks are low. However, knowing odd's do help people relax.

i understand that. but most people would test positive by one month. im not saying its 100% im just saying the chances are good

The results of one month does not mean a thing. Had you used a condom you wouldn't be worrying about anything.
