Robert:

Thank you very much, now is a little clear, but I have a new question. I can understand that an outbreak could be as you said an "open doorway", but what if there is no outbreak? The only presence of herpes with no outbreaks increases the risk?? What I mean, if for example, a person infected with HVI and herpes (without outbreaks) has unprotected intercourse with someone who has not any of them, just the presence of herpes increases the posibilities of catching HVI??? Really thankfull for your quick answer

During a herpes "Outbreak" it can raise the chances some due to the presence of recurrent lesions acting as a "open doorway" to make the virus more easily introduced into the body, as well as through a less well understood immunological reaction in which the herpes "primes" the immune system to be ready to get infected by HIV.
