Your 3 months post exposure testing will be conclusive.

Apologies for my potential ignorance but when you say a stand alone test (for the 3 month antibody test), do you mean a test in which does not need to be followed up by any other test?
Obviously I am incredibly anxious regarding wether I have contracted the infection and therefore would like to know as quickly as possible, even if it is not 100% accurate but apparently this multiplex test is still incredibly accurate?!
Surely if they use it for blood transfusion services then this test must be fairly comprehensive/recognised? It does appear very limited who offers this though as it is very expensive and maybe isnt as conclusive as the 3 month test, although may not be far behind.
Again opinions would be very much appreciated. Thank you,
Multiplex Testing is a Nucleotide Amplification Test that looks for hiv 1 and 2 and hep b and c.It is used for very early detection-7 to 10 days after exposure, blood transfusion services commonly use this test. However,an antibody test at 3 months post-exposure is always required as a follow up.
Only an antibody test is conclusive at 3 months. No other test is a stand alone test.
Any approved test should be performed at 3 months post-exposure for a conclusive negative result by medical guidelines. But if the tension runs too high, a test at beyond 6 weeks post-exposure can give a reliable preview of the result later on.
