had most of ARS symptoms and ended up being negative in the end?

tons of people on these forums.  just pick any thread at random and chances are you find someone with a majority of the symptoms...and they turn it neg.

I had 3 weeks post exposure:

Fever of 99.4 up to 101.9
Medically proven swollen lymph nodes
Severe fatigue that was so bad I couldnt drive my car
No appetite and subsequent loss of 10 lbs in one week
Diarreah (diarrhea)
Severe swollen throat where tonsils swelled over throat opening with white stuff on the tonsils
White tongue

I went to the dr and they did a blood test and told me I have mono
I had a rapid test done that same day at 3 weeks and it was negative.

Next week I am going for a 5 week test. I am praying its negative

Infectious mononucleosis. It is a viral infection that once you get you become immune to it. Most people have it as small children and dont get sick. Teens and young adults get it from kissing or sharing eating utensils. 90% of adults have had it by the time they are 40 but some people dont get symptoms. Mono is caused by the Epstein-Barr virus which is in the herpes family. The people that get EBV virus and it turns into mono get really sick for about a week and then for weeks or months after they get awful fatigue. The scary part is that ARS and mono have IDENTICAL symptoms except ARS does not have white patches on the throat/tonsils. Right when I got symptoms I ran to the dr to get a mono test and THANK GOODNESS it was positive.

Yes, HIV is the only life threating STD.

Syphillis (syphilis) can cause death if untreated...but that is rare.

this may be a stupid question but what is mono. also is hiv the only life threatening std.

Blue's referring to tertiary syphillis (syphilis).  look for it in an early season 2 episode of HOUSE, MD
