test, i didnt see the test result, but doctor said i am fine and negative,
In these recent years i met a girl, fell in love and married her, just recently while she was doing her hiv test for life insurance in 2010, we were shocked to know that her elisa came back positive but western blot was negative, the doctor said her overall test was negative, but he would like to retest once again after couple of weeks to confirm
that this is a false positive and not an indication of a recent infection, we were called back after two months
and she was tested again with the same result, elisa positive but wb negative, this time the doctor told us not
to worry since the confirmatory test was negative , and my wife is fine. We were happy but some how i was
scared and not convinced, the question still remains as to why her elisa was repeatedly positive?
My concern here is- 1) Can seroconversion be possible after two years?
2. What worries me is after the series for 3 tests i did over the past two years after exposure, i am scared if i serconverted after 2-3 years and ended up infecting my wife???I dying with guilt, all this while after the 3 tests
i though i was fine, but after my wifes positve elisa and negative wb result i am scared.Doctor please advice.
You haven,t infected your wife because you are conclusively negative. Its not possible to seroconvert after 2 years.Your wife is negative aswell from her negative western blot.Your both safe, relax. The guilt is making you have irrational thoughts about the virus. You never had a risk to begin with and never required testing.
