Hiv test 13 weeks

Hi dr.  I had sex with another male,  unprotected.  The status of the male is unknown.  On the 93rd day after possible exposure i did an e i a hiv 1/2 antibody test that came out negative. Is this conclusive?

Yes, I can understand your relief. Unprotected anal sex is THE most risky sex for contracting HIV.

Please learn how to play safe.

The Elisa test you had done at 12 weeks post exposure is conclusive.

HIV tests after the 3 month window are more than 99.97% accurate. They work for all types and subtypes of HIV.

Very few medical tests have 100% accuracy.

They're just being ultra conservative.  The window period has been 3 months since 2004
