Hope Teak or Worried826 would answer my case -Precum and Oral sex

First of all, I would like to say 'thank you' for people (especially Teak, Worrid826, and Mike_no) who have given advices and alleviated the anxiety that worries people like me. Thank you so much.

I've read almost 90% of all the answers and advices about the correlation between the precum and HIV infection.
The more the exposure to infected semen, blood, and precum, the greater the chance to infection.

But it seems every single case exposes to different likelihood of infection. So, I would like to find out what you
think about my case as it has been worrying me very very much.

I'm a chinese living in China. I've to admit that my english is probably not good enough to make you all
understand my case. So, I explain my case in points form and hope I'd get some advices from anyone of you.

1) I'd unprotected (no condom was used in the oral) oral sex with a whiteman whose HIV status is unknown
yet for me a month ago (we are both gays). He claimed that he has had sex before with other guys
but I'm not sure if those are protected or unprotected sex. And this was my first sex experience.

2) What worries me is: I had given him oral (i gave, he received) for around 10-20 minutes. No ejaculation
but there was precum from his penis (i'm sure) when I performed the oral. I believe I have swallowed some
of his precum with my saliva during the course.  There is no bleeding from his penis (only precum). But I
had ulsers then (indeed I've uslers all the time long before I've this experience with him). Sometimes some
of my ulsers bleed but most of the time they didn't. I'm sure my ulsers did not bleed before and after the oral
as I gargled my throat and found no blood then.

3) I fell sick exactly a week after. My throat was so painful with sputum, and I'd a very mild fever. I recovered
   after around 10 days.

So, my questions are:

(A) I'm prettry sure I won't get infected if he is HIV-, but What is the risk of infection (i mean the probability) in my
case assuming that he is HIV+?
I know I need to test it with doctor 3 months after but I would like to get your advices first before I go ahead with it
as I might lose my job if I was infected. The hospital here might inform both the government and my employer here.

(B) Should we both use condom next time when we have oral sex again? We've now become partner.

Thank you all very much.

There is A LOT of "conservative" info out on the internet about HIV transmission, most of it far-fetched other then real penetrative risks (ex; unprotected anal/vaginal sex) which you didn't experience. If you have such a pressing need to test, test at 6 weeks, and collect your negative, and move on, most people whom are not immuno-supressed will test accurately at this time, even according to Massachusetts, many LA/SF Clinics, etc. But you really had no risk, move on. I did.

Thanks for the advice. But mind telling why you think I didn't put myself at risk in my case assuming that the man in my case is HIV+?  Is it because you believe having unprotected oral sex with someone who is HIV+ would not cause the infection or the chance to get infected is extremely low, so low so that one can actually ignore it?

I've read many articles (both in english and in mandarin) ragarding the correlation between HIV infection and precum including some from Dr. Bob. And just as what you mentioned, some said there is no risk at all, while some other said there is slight risk. And this is what confuses me as I know almost every single case has different possibility in terms of the infection. So, in your opinion, mind to tell the risk exposure of my case? Let's say it in 1/1,000, 1/10,000, or 1/100,000. Or simply very low, low, medium, high, or extremely high? I know I'm probably asking to much but i sincerely hope you'd give advice on this.

Yes, getting a trusted clinic to have HIV test in China here is not as easy as in western countries as we all here are quite worried that the result (no matter is - or +) will be known by government or employers although many clinics here claim that they will keep everything in high confidential manner. But believe me, many people like me here doubt it. So, people here are rather not go for the test although they suspect they are in high risk to exposure. As a result, the number of HIV infection cases is soaring high up from years to years. Guess we need a better policy to encourage or to give confidence people here to go for the test. Hope what i explain makes you clear about what we have here in China.

Thank you again, Ice_Man (Cool name anyway :)

還是去做個檢查會比較安心些。
記住下次做的時候要帶 安全套。
我也給人家oral 過,我想應該沒事吧。

You were never at risk of contracting HIV by the oral sex situation.

Hi, many very knowledgable about HIV infection would say you have no risk at all from giving oral sex. Others, say there is a slight risk, particularily for the partner who gives the oral to a man. If you haven't, you should read some of dr. Bob's writing in the body . co m. but he answers peoples questions in that thread. This being said, it's very little risk you have from your single act with the ,,white-man" ;0)

I don't know but guess it's not the easiest thing to get hiv tested in China? You should if you can and actually you should test for other STD's aswell, many of which is transmitted much easier then the HIV.
