How accuret is vidas (duo test) at 25 post exposure?

Hello, i had unnprotected sex with this guy that i barely knew ( im a 23 year old girl ) and this guy loves women too much as in he would do anything to sleep with anyone! Since that i started worriying that what if i contracted hiv from him. Anyways after 9 days when i went to pee i saw 3 drops of  blood in my urine so i rushed to the A&E and they told me that the could i have blood in urine but it was negative so they said that my period is comming. they also checked for hiv using the figer prick which was neg but told me to have another one later on as its too early to test for hiv. Two days later when i was getting shower and i was weeing i saw more blood in my urine i was conviced is not because of my period as it didnt even come yet and has to be with sexual intercourse i had! I started going out of my mind. So that same day i went to the local gum clinic they tested my urine and said that there was not blood present at that time and said i had UTI and  gave me tablets to take for two days. In that time (two weeks) i lost 2.5kg and then i was reading sympthons of hiv and waight lost was one of them at this point i conviced my self that i had hiv. When i spoke to my doctor he said that blood in urine is never nothink to the with hiv.but i was still conviced it was! I think there was a change in my bowel movent two! 25 days after expousure I took a test, they call the VIDAS (duo test) which thank god came back negative and the lady said that i dont need to come back i was anymore i was so happy and later i started thinking why did not advice me to come back   after three months. I always had heartburn when i drunk tea and i always had dry skin but i know now its more and developed a cold after 6 weeks after and a bit of temperature when i went to sleep and woke i noticed that i sweted quite a lot and the next day i was feeling better i still have runny nose and sore throte and swet a little a at night . My other concern is that my period is running late the second time. My question is do you think is stress and fact that i lost 2.5kgs in so little time cousing a little change in my bowel movements? And that i have more dry skin and heart burn could it be because i have hiv and therefore im more prone to things . My other question is realible is the 25 day test ? That test is very accurate in that time frame,However you do need to repeat the test at 12 weeks for a 100% conclusive result.All the best.

Highly unlikely that you will test positve after that negative result you received,However you still need to take another test at 12 weeks to obtain a 100% conclusive result.

Thank you and two more questions if you dont mind  some people say its 99.8% accuret and some say its 99.5% what do you think? And does the fact that i went to get the test at 25 days insted of 28 make big difference or would my results still be negative if i took the test at 28 days . And have you known any case which someone tested neg at 25 days and tested positive at 3 monts ?

The doctors in our expert forum continue to say that a DUO is 100% at 4 weeks,However,if you follow the guidelines from the CDC and FDA,you need to repeat that test at 12 weeks.I can tell you that a 6 week negative has never then turned positive in recent years but 25 days is a bit early to say that.Just have another test at 12 weeks and it will be final.

No,it wouldn,t make a difference at all.p24 antigen is at high levels at that time frame.

Hi. I went get my blood test today wich is two months now .. My results will come on this following monday... Im so scared of the result... Can you give me some support as what i should do? If it was possitive how long will it take to accept my status and will i ever be happy again? Thank you

I very much doubt that you will test positive after a negative duo test at 25 days.  

I think you have nothing to worry about, just learn from this and make sure you always use condoms in the future.

Yes,symptoms never diagnose Hiv.Just test again at 3 Months and collect your negative result.You can put this all behind you then.

Hello everyone. Im still waiting for my 12 week mark to come. However im still experiencing the symptoms i had before i had a test at 8 weeks (pain in my hips, leg, bit of swets at night and dry mouth... Also spoke to the clinic where i had the tests done and the telling me that a DOU test

There is no need for confusion.The DUO is most effective at 4 weeks.The fact that you still need to test at 12 weeks is to make it official and 100%.It really depends who you ask.

Hello sorry to bother you again, but there is somethimg that still bugs me. When i had tbe last test (insti). When doctor was taking blood from my finger my hands were cold so when he was filling the pippet he fild it like half way true and said it should be fine. And result showed a ring and a dot inside the ring if i remember well and said it was negative . Should i be worried as he didnt fill out the pippet comletely. Really appriciate your answer. Thanx a lor

Hi thanx for your response . I wouldnt be worried at all but i as the test wasent done how it should of had it worries me. I was watching how they do the INSTI test on youtube and it said is really important to fill the pippet in all the way. If was done properly i wouldnt be worried at all.

Because you think you have symptoms so your body reacts to it. Symptoms don't happen this far after exposure. Get off the internet and researching stuff.
