How did Magic Johnson beat HIV?

Johnson had HIV, has HIV?  You don't really hear about it anymore.... He was diagnosed in 1991 and now people say he no longer has it...  Is this a product of a cure that is actually out there?  I heard about some US Patent for a cure that was being held up at some stage of clinical trials.  I also read that Magic took something called Natrol from Larch trees and this is what cured him.

Any thoughts on these?
