How longs does HIV survive outside the body

Well I just wanted to know how long does HIV live outside the body. The problem is I went to get tested (8 weeks) and my test came back negative but I did not look to see if the doctor used a fresh needle to withdraw my blood and I just wanted to know if it was a dirty needle that has been sitting around how long could the virus live inside of the needle. Please help me ASAP but Im kind of lising it....

one last question with ars does all the symptoms come at once or can just one symptom happen at a time if ars occur

But teak what if the needle had HIV in the syringe would it have been injected inside of me while they were withdrawing my blood.

But I just have an thought that maybe it was a accident and maybe he re-used it on a honest mistake if so what would be my chances of getting the virus if it had HIV on it. I was the first one in the clinic @ so if It was re-used it had to be sitting around for @ least 12 hours can hiv survive that long outside of the body?
