I am on Truvada only post exposure meds enough?

i m male 25 had unprotected anal sex 42 hours ago I received. the guy was hiv +. 24 hours after exposure I started on TRUVADA the doctor prescribed only 7 pills for 7 days. Do you think it is enough? I read somewhere that patient needs to take pills for 28 days. today is my second pill 5 more days left. please advise. I feel no side effects yet. Thank you

you were given the starter pack and i would assume you were told to follow up with a dr.  keep taking your meds and find a dr

You should speak with an ID Dr. I have never heard of PEP being only given for 7 days.

As I said I have never heard of a 7 day dose of PEP. Get with a ID Dr today or at least a phone call to one.

you need to see a hiv specialist regarding this matter.  most GP's are not experienced enough regarding hiv to treat you.

no one here should suggest or not suggest what regimen you should be taking.

my window period for pap closing tomorrow and i am only taking truvada, and i m reading that usually truvada taken with other hiv prophylaxis meds, so this is what i wanted to know if truvada only is enough for prophylaxis. i m calling a doctor but he is not picking up...
