I did something stupid

by grizzabc, Apr 11, 2009 11:44AM

First off, I'd like to thank everyone who posts answers on this forum. What you do is of inestimable worth.

About a month ago I engaged in unprotected insertive oral with a shemale CSW. I am caucasian and circumscised. I realize that the insertive part was probably low risk but s/he also licked and sucked on one of my balls. While doing this s/he was roughly twisting my scrotum. One of her fingernails scratched me deeply enough to draw blood. I'm pretty sure she continued to lick and suck the area even after the cut occurred. Five days after the incident I developed a sore throat, runny nose, fatigue, and achy knees. These symptoms lasted just under two weeks.

Also, she seemed unnaturally skinny (so I'm thinking that maybe this was due to drug use or, even worse, AIDS). Assuming the worst case scenario, namely that s/he had a high viral load and had blood in her mouth or bleeding gums, could someone please assess my risk? Thanks.

No risk.

Thanks for your response. So, you're saying I don't need to bother testing?

No need to bother.  The CDC recommends HIV testing on an annual basis for all sexually active individuals (kind of like cholesterol screening for all older adults), but you didn't have a risk for which to test.

according to harrisons principle of internal medicine..."Oral sex is a much less efficient mode of transmission of HIV than is receptive anal intercourse. A number of studies have reported that the incidence of transmission of infection by oral sex among couples discordant for HIV was extremely low. However, there have been reports of documented HIV transmission resulting solely from receptive fellatio and insertive cunnilingus. Therefore, the assumption that receptive oral sex is completely safe is not warranted"

but the chances is about 1/10,000 or more.. so no need to worry about.. but next time use condom also for oral sex... u wouldn't be worried .... just for your knowledge and further safety... move on with your life.. and as jhjgy said .. hiv testiing should be done in annual basis for sexually active people..
