I messed up and very scared right now

This incident happened a few days ago with another guy friend I graduated with.
Let me explain the whole situation, we both were talking and Facebook and suddenly the whole conversation changed to us meeting up and having some alone time. We actually did meet up but I made the foolish error of  participating in unprotective anal sex giving and receiving with my guy friend. I know this is a big NO NO for safe sex and I'm extremely worried about the whole thing. This guy that I'm speaking of is a straight male and was his first time with another guy. And he feels the same way about it and asks me was I negative. I Always practice safe sex except for this incident. And now I'm worried to death about it and losing sleep thinking that my friend could be positive and contracted something. I feel like a total reck right now.

Not "great". A one time single exposure is unlikely to lead to infection.
Some folks can go for months... even years in having unsafe sex before getting hit.
But you had a potential exposure and even though chances are you're ok, you have to test at the three month mark with a simple ab test.....but in the future....use condoms! No exceptions!

If this person test negative for HIV and I do also what's the chance of being false negative if both of us has always had protective sex except for this one incident.

Thank you for the reply, and I really hope it's going to be negative. I will post my results of what they are once the 12 weeks are up.

From this one time encounter I dont expect you to turn hiv positive

Get tested at 3 months post exposure for a conslusive result.

USE CONDOMS for penetrative sex and you will remain hiv negative!!!!

Okay thank you, and based upon my encounter is it very likely to test negative?

You'll have to wait 3 months anyway to obtain a conclusive negative test result anyway.

You can ask your doctor for this or a clinic. If its not available in your country then you can wait and test 3 months after your last exposure.

You can test 4 weeks after your last exposure with a duo test. It is an accurate 4th generation test. If negative you can confirm 3 months after your last exposure.

Until your results try to keep calm

Another note me and this friend are planning on meeting up again, and we did discuss the usage of condoms next time. We both agree to the fact that its better with them and much safer. And we won't do anything else unless its with a condom.

I do know that you never trust what someone says, but if a friend tells me over and over again that they have nothing wrong with them. "He stated that I don't do anything with anybody and I'm good." I do believe this person is telling the truth but I'm to scared to believe it.

6 weeks won't tell you your status. There are no tests marketed or sold to give a conclusive test result earlier than 3 months post exposure.
