I have two incidents that I want to explain I hope I can get some real advise. 1) incident occurred aguest 11,2009 at my job. I do loss prevention for a livingAdvanced care directives and on the date mention above my co worker and I stopped an adult male for shoplifting! This person ressited briefly but we mannaged to handcuff him and bring him to our office. Once in the office I felt my chinChin augmentation Chin augmentation - series irritating, I looked In a mirror and I noticed a scratchAllergy skin prick or scratch test Allergy testing on my chinChin augmentation Chin augmentation - series. No blood was dripping but it was red and irratating I put handHand or foot spasms Hand tremor sanatizer right away and it stung. Moments later when the police arrived the officers said that he had priors for drug abuseAlcoholism Chemical dependence - resources Child abuse - physical Child abuse - sexual Child neglect and psychological abuse Drug abuse Drug abuse and dependence Drug abuse first aid Family troubles - resources Laxative overdose Signs of drug abuse!. I don't remeber how I got scratched possible during the brief ressistance! I rember the male adult biteting his nalis while in our office! I dont know if he does that on a regular basis! My question is how high is the risk for HIV transmitted through a scratch? Has there ever been any documented cases of this? Incident number 2) I was with a girl on September 10, 2009 and I fingered her for about five minutes the next day I realized that I had a deep paper cut on the finger! I didn't feel a sting during thses actions! I do remember feeling a sting approximatly 5 hours prior to seeing this girl when I used sanitizer to clean my hands! And I don't remeber any blood on it I don't know how fresh the cut was. Please help what are my risks! Some websites confuse me! I'm stressing alot and on the 7 week I got a cold with a cold soar on my outside lip! I have felt hot flashes on my back and it gets sweaty! I don't know if it's anxiety bc I think too much! And I'm afraid! I will be waiting for a response!
"HIV isn't so easily transmitted. Minor cuts and trivial blood exposures simply don't create a measurable risk. Like many persons, you seem to think that "just one virus" is enough to transmit the infection. That is not the case. Substantial amounts of infected blood or secretions have to be introduced into the body in a way that exposes certain cells to the virus. If HIV could be transmitted in the ways you are worrying about, AIDS would be 100 times more common than it is and would not be classified as an STD."
concerning fingering...
hiv is NOT transmitted through fingering. no one has ever been infected from fingering...regardless of cuts.
