Thank you everyone for your support and knowledgable information. I got my results back and I came up negative.. Can't say that same thing for another guy I know. I got lucky compared to him but I'm thankful to everyone on this site. I'm glad. With out it, I would have been even more of a anxiety ridden mess than I was.

I just went to take my STD tests and I'm crossing my fingers and prayed that everything would be fine. I feel confidant God will make sure I walk out fine.  I also emailed my local HIV/aids center to ask about volunteering and helping out. Thank you for the support everyone and please pray for me.

please go to the "health pages" in the upper right hand corner of the forum.  you can find some useful information there.

you stated that you have been sick for over a month.  ARS lasts 1-2 weeks

you stated that your lymph nodes hurt.  lymph nodes that are swollen from ARS are NOT painful.

i know many people who get red spots on their tongues for no reason at all... fevers happen for many reasons...sometimes, HIV symptoms can be psychological too i think, since we THINK we might have it,we tend to THINK we have its symptoms

this question is to anyone. besides anxiety, is there any other diseases that could produce  redspots on tongue and fever and lymph nodes hurting. If there's nothing else than fine. I'll know to expect HIV or nothing. but at this point going in and  getting siphillis and no HIV would bring me comfort. I'd take Herpes at this point even if it is a pain. Please advise. any other possible std's that produce ARS like symptoms?

Will chlamydia, herpes or any of the other diseases give me the same or similar symptoms to ARS? I was reading about siphillis and hepatitis and they sound like they have fevers and chills and things like that. I'm worried. I'm gonna get the courage to go in tomorrow but i'm worried. this girl I met less than a month ago and I've been sick for over a week. it sounds like ARS. any other possibilities

"This is the worst day of my life. "

There's no nice way to say this.....but you need to chill.  You are way overdramatizing this.  You cannot see this rationally because you have catastrophized the situation.

MOST sex workers in industrialized countries like the US do NOT have HIV.  While the prevalence of HIV is higher than in NON csw's...it is still rare.

When was your last episode of unprotected sex with her?  If it wasn't at least 4 weeks ago, you'd be wasting time and money testing at this point.

A test at 6 weeks will give you a lot of reassurance.  IF you had been infected, a test at 6 weeks would almost definitely be positive.  You've placed yourself at a MUCH higher risk for other STD's than HIV...chlamydia, herpes.  Visit your local planned parenthood clinic and they can advise what tests you need at what time.

In the meantime....RELAX.  Your anxiety is only adding to your problems.

Thank you for the advice. the only way I'll find out is by getting checked out. Maybe she's just a stripper and the pictures of her with her number on it with sexy pics are stripper audition pictures not craigslist pics or something. oh God I feel sick. This is the worst day of my life.

We had really rough sex and with that stupid thing inside her scraping my penis. We'd have it for like an hour at times. I feel sick to my stomach. I thought she had only two boyfriends in her life and now I'm worried I just really messed up mine

read the forum...pretty much every man posting here had sex with a pro.   these girls are usually very concerned with their health since they are having sex for a living.  they use condoms so that their paying customers do not infect "them".

having sex with someone who is hiv + does NOT mean automatic infection...so try and calm down.  i'm sure you are on the internet SEARCHING...stop ! ! !  it does nothing but add fuel to the fire of your anxiety.

I have to get tested tomorrow. I can't take this. Most people don't have HIV but still this girl is a call girl. there's more reason for her to have this than anyone. I'm just so mad at myself. These symptoms are real unfortunately. My tongue is red and white, the burning sensation. the fevers keeping me up all night. I can't believe I believed everything she said. I will go in and get tested and see but I hate this. I had a lot of sex with her and she had some thing up in her for birth control which probably bruised my penis. I feel like ****. I feel like I just need to scream. I hate this.

I second what lizzie said!  Chances are, your partner is NOT infected...and since it is a girl you know...you could both go get tetsted together.  A negative test of hers almost puts the possibly to bed for good.  A follow up test at 3 months will give you conclusive, final results.

You're letting your anxiety get the best of you, which is what is likely causing all of your "symptoms".  Bottom line...HIV is actually a rare disease, and most people do NOT have it.  If your partner doesn't have it...she can't give it to you.  And if she WAS POS...it is a very hard virus to transmit (especially female to male).  Even people who have had unprotected sex with an infected person end up coming out on the other side just fine. Don't get me wrong...I'm not saying unprotected sex is adviseable, or that it NEVER leads to infection.  Obviously, it does, which is why we're advising you to test....just remember that it is RARE.  A risk is a risk, but you probably have nothing to worry about.

So....keep your anxiety harnessed...quit reading online, and get tested within the time frames we have recommended.

Unfortunately...we are here to offer risk assessments, not counseling or emotional support.  There are just way too many posters on this forum to do so, it isn't feasible.

Hang in there...you are likely just fine.

when did you have unprotected sex with her...how long ago has it been?

most ppl...who realize they had a risk...get FILLED with anxiety over the situation.  if you will read some posts on this forum...you will see, first-hand, what i'm talking about.  they are convinced they have EVERY symptom there is...are quite positive that they have contracted hiv.  anxiety can cause some VERY REAL symptoms.

hiv is a very fragile virus and is not transmitted as easily as one may think.  on top of that...it is alot more difficult for a man to contract hiv from a woman, than it is the other way around.

in the grand scheme of things...MOST ppl do NOT have hiv...and it is HIGHLY unlikely that this girl does either.

you can test at 6-8 weeks post exposure for a good indication of your status...but follow up at 3 months for a conclusive result.
