I performed oral sex on a woman and one week later I have flu-like symptoms

I was in Hong Kong and met a woman.  I performed oral sex on her and then had protected sex.  I am back in the U.S. and one week since the exposure.  I developed a sore throat with white spots on tonsils and now runny nose.    Immediate care says either strep or tonsillitis and gave me Augmentin.  My common sense says one week is too early to be sick from HIV and that I probably got sick from the airplane.  However, my paranoia says panic.  Knowing that I do not know the facts about HIV, I turn to the group.  Am I worrying about nothing?

Yes.. You are worried unnecessarily. You had no risk with oral sex nor with the protected sex. Not a hiv concern.
