On 2 August I was dumb. I met up with a cross dresser on good 'ol Craigslist. He has said he doesn't have anything but I'm finding it hard to believe. We did not use any protection. I inserted first for about a minute then we switched. He pulled out right before he came. I didn't see any trace of blood or anything. Here are my concerns:
1. I have mild pneumonia. My wife, son and I had bronchitis
close to my hairline show up. These were no bigger than a pinhead. One disappeared. One ended up scabbing over. One has now got a hard spot in the middle which I think might scab over as well. The one that did scab over hurts when touched. The other one itches. Sometimes I feel stinging and burning without touching them at all.
4. I'm very tired. My entire body feels exhausted. Sometimes at night I sweat.
I will be getting a 7 week test done tomorrow (20 Sep). I realize this won't be a conclusive test but it will hopfully provide comfort (hoping it's negative). So with these symptoms is it possible to have HIV? I realize you can't go off symptoms. I have searched through the forums and haven't found a satisfying answer for me. How soon after an event can a person have pnuemonia (pneumonia) or any of the other symptoms I'm presenting? As of right now these are all the questions I have but I may have others as I think about it more. I have not lost any weight, my appetite is just fine as well.
The only way to diagnose hiv is to take a test which you are doing because you had a risk.At 7 weeks you will receive a good idea of your status but as your aware only a test result at 3 months is considered conclusive.Symptoms don,t mean anything when diagnosing hiv.Use protection with your wife while waiting for your results. All the best.
Well I took one of those 15 minute tests today. Today is exactly 7 weeks after this foolish happening. It said negative. I don't know how reliable rapid tests are. I know they are FDA approved but really what does that mean? So now I wait until the middle of November for my 3 month follow-up. Thank you to those who commented.
