I'm going to have a HIV test tomorrow

Dear Doctor,

I'm going to have an HIV test tomorrow at a clinic belongs to NYC HHC. I have a question? Is there possibility that I got infected if the doctor there had mis-operated something? For example, if the doctor use a used needle to get my blood sample or use an unsterilized item on my wound, or something like that?

I'm really anxious about my health. Ok, I know I'm over anxious. But I really don't want to worry the HIV issues any more.. I want to have an ordinary and normal life!

Thank you very much!!

Clinic's have to follow strict guidelines when sterilizing equipyment. Also,They would never re-use a syringe when taking a blood sample from you.Stop worrying and don't be afraid.

Throw all your baseless fears away. Clinical laboratories are more concerned about best and safe practices than us. Trust your medical services. Everything will be fine.
