Infection potential - open environment, but mucousal membrane.

I've been up the last three nights basically trying to process and balance the volume of information on this site and others.  I'm awash in seeming contradictions (to a layman) and need some expert help asap.  The stress has really worn me down.

Here's my situation:  After a long mutual masturbation session and right after he came, my partner (undetermined status) grabbed my uncircumsized penis and gave it a stroke or two.  At that point, his hand was covered in his own just-ejaculated sperm.  And my penis was a little swollen and seriously abraded from the long session.  We showered right afterwards.  For the next three days, my penis was pretty swollen from the session's friction and I noticed later (after the swelling subsided) that there appeared to be a long area of abrasions just under my penis' head.  Noticeable abrasions - deep red and moist looking.

A week later, I had swollen glands in my neck.  Nine days out, I had a sore throat as well and also noticed swollen glands under my arms.  I'm at Day 12 and still have the sore throat and some swollen glands.  One of my concerns is that I noticed the symptoms before I knew they were consistent with ARS.

Here's my contradictions:  I've read that hand to genital transmission is highly unlikely.  I've read that the virus loses it's ability to infect within an unspecified timeframe, but that that timeframe is very short.  I've also read that the virus can't infect outside the body at all.  So, I start feeling okay.  But then I read that the virus can infect given a 'portal of entry' through the mucous membrane (which I seemed to have provided it via my very raw/abraded inner foreskin).  This, I'm presuming from other info on here, is similar to infection via sperm in a person's eye.  So, then I start feeling very worried again.

I've also read that even with a portal of entry, the virus needs to be 'pushed' into the portal (i.e.,as happens in unprotected anal/vaginal sex).  So, I start feeling okay.  But then I consider that my partner rubbed his hand up and down my extremely abraded penis right after coming.  So I start feeling very anxious again.

I've read on here that mutual masturbation (aka hand-to-genital) infection is nearly impossible due to the effect of air on the virus.  Yet a 'Fact Sheet' on another site says that "it's possible for HIV to enter the penis through any open sores ... or through the cells in the mucous membrane in the foreskin or the head of the penis". Is mucousal infection only likely in a closed environment or is it likely in my situation?

Botton line is that my head is spinning and that I am experiencing symptoms completely consistent with infection.  I've read enough on here not to measure infection by symptoms.  On one hand, I have been stressed out.  On the other, my body just feels different.

What is the probability that my experience has led to infection?  Or am I just 'worried' sick?  I'd appreciate a quantitative type of estimate (i.e., '1 in 100') versus a qualitative estimate (i.e., 'remote' or 'not very likely' or 'likely').

Also, which test do YOU recommedt I take at the three week mark?

Thanks!

Thanks, Vance.

You know what?  I think the 'I don't know' purgatory is worse than any diagnosis.  If I were negative, I'd be happy.  If I were positive, I'd say 'Now what?  Let's attack this thing'.  But being stuck in the waiting stage truly SUCKS.

Thanks for your reply.
