Insertive Oral Sex, PEP and HIV DUO Test

Hello All,

I had unprotected oral insertive sex with an escort 8+ weeks ago. The place was a bit shabby and she didnt suck much possibly about 5 minutes long, I came outside her on her body. I didnt touch her at all, but , I did suck her nipples for some time. I went on a PEP course 9-10 hours after the contact i,e;7:30 AM . I completed the course on time, but, because I was travelling across continents I did prepone some doses over time when I moving across time zones  (by 2-3 hours)  , to fit the new dinner/breakfast times - so when I took the last dose it was 6 hours before 7:30 AM in the place where I started the dose - does preponing the dose have any effect?

I got a DUO PEP Test 54 days after the exposure. It was negative. The doc told not to do the test at the 3 month mark , since the result at 2 months post exposure would be conclusive  - Is this true? Should I go for a test at 3 months post PEP? I am not very anxious , but would still like to know.

To start you never had a risk and never needed to take PEP. Whoever gave you PEP was wrong to do so.

You have no reason to test with no risk.

I know you will be asking more questions so here is the answer. For people who have a real risk a test at 3 months is conclusive. And if someone who had a real risk took PEP a test 3 months after PEP was finished would be conclusive. But I hope you can take this to heart and mind...YOU DID NOT HAVE A RISK.

Your doctor is incorrect. You were put at significant risk for liver or kidney damage and even death over a no risk situation. It was a travesty of modern medicine for you to be put on PEP over oral sex.

Hello,

I did mention to her that I had oral insertive and she did mention the risk of 0.04% ( which is not the 1/20000)

you must of told your doc you had a risk via intercourse or anal, because no doctor in his right mind would give you pep for a blowjob.

Thanks for your responses. As I said, I wouldnt blame either docs for giving me PEP. I was that worried . That said, I have to say , that had the doctors taken time to explain the situation to me and the chances( 1/20000) I would have not considered it.

Again, I would like to state that very low risk does not mean "no risk" and if the doctor was willing to put her foot down and state that I would not get HIV through the above mentioned encouter -  I would not take it. In the end I guess she was not willing to  make such a concrete statement and hence gave me PEP.

I never said a 54 day test can be treated as conclusive. I said you never had a risk so you don't/didn't need to test. So for you any test is conclusive absent of a risk.

Poor move by the Dr to give you PEP. PEP is reserved for known risks. Anal or vaginal sex unprotected with someone who has HIV. Not oral sex.

You never had a risk and the doctor that prescribed nPEP should have his license revoked.

Hello,

Thanks for your response. So I take it that the confirmative test at 54 days can be treated conclusive. I got the pep from a Sexual Clinic - I presume the doctor felt I would acquire it anyways and decided to give it to me to possibly stop my compulsion - I was told it was very low risk, but I was not willing to listen to the ER doctor or the Sexual Clinic doctor.
