Insertive Oral

Insertive Oral

I had protected sex for 5 mins with a woman who is HIV+ followed by unprotected oral sex [Given to me]   for less than 30 seconds. Then followed by a hand job. We also kissed. 4 days later i was diagnosed with NGU. I am extremely worried that catching this or previously having it has increased my risk for catching HIV. Please can you offer any advice  my risk. DO i need testing?

You don't need testing. Insertive oral is not a risk. Neither is kissing. It's a difficult virus to transmit. Use condoms for vaginal and anal intercourse and you'll never have to worry about HIV:)

i agree with dobber, it has yet to be proven that a bj will cause an hiv infection,
ill tell you, testing is not warranted at all. if you feel nervous, then test for hiv. but really is not needed.

Thank you for your answers, I respect your comments however, still feel a test will only put my mind to rest. I dont know what it is but I cant help feel ill be the 0.5 in the 10,000. From the research people have done has anyone know of anyone to of contracted HIV from usuage of a condom or insertive oral unprotected?. I have seen one documented case on www.avert to someone giving oral, but none for receiving.

Thank you again for your comments they have helped.

In the history of the AIDS epidemic, there has not been ONE documented case of HIV transmission via insertive oral sex.

You are suffering from irrational anxiety. I can't believe you would spend even one minute worrying about this as you were never, ever at risk. Perhaps you should seek counselling regarding your unwarranted fears? Honestly, you are overreacting here and need to talk to someone. Forget 0.5 in 10,000, there is no way to quantify a non-risk event (I really wish the CDC would stop quoting that statistic as it simply isn't true) and even if it were true, you had a condom on. You were as safe as safe could be:)

Ja,
If you were really protected there's no way you could have contracted the virus, No testing required
Condoms = NO STD + NO Pregnancy

Don't compare your incidence with the one you've read at avert cuz the individual who contracted the virus through performing oral had a pathetic oral condition and that information is also doubted cuz there's a debate about the same that the person might have acquired the virus by some other means

If only testing can give you peace of mind, test at the 6th week and move on, I guarantee you, it's gonna be negative :)

Now, the most important thing, stop googling info about HIV, cuz that can really worsen things and please don't compare your situation with the others........

Thanks again to try and ease my anxiety. The only thing is the oral part was unportected, that is why I am concerned, on top of being diagnosed with an NGU.

Regardless of it being unprotected, there still wasn't a risk, really there wasn't. You don't get HIV from a blowjob:)

Giving a blow job is not a risk, brother :)

take it easy, see your GP and tell him/her about your anxiety, li'l bit of counseling and medication (only if required) would certainly relieve your irrational fears :)
