Irrational thoughts ??

Good evening all, I was recently on a trip to the Carribean. On the trip I moved a chair in a night club and then noticed a small amount of red liquid on my one finger. It wasn't from me and being somewhat paranoid I began to think that this was blood perhaps from another patron or from the help ( large HIV population in this country ) . I wiped it off and then went to wash my hands. Honestly, did it look like blood - I'm not sure but the fluid was wet and red. My paranoi grew throughout the night and really let it get the best of me. My girlfriend thought I was being absolutely crazy but I couldn't help what I was starting to feel. I'm sorry if this is a stupid question but any insight from you that are more grounded than myself would indeed be appreciated. P.S. No obvious open cuts or wounds on my hand.

thank you Mike, I appreciate you taking the moment to give me some piece of mind. These life events scare people which is unfortunate but these events are also unavoidable. I see so many posts like mine, who even knows if it was blood - could have been someones margarita !  Either way, I certainly do appreciate your response and reassurance.

Hi Concern,

HIV can't be transmitted in the fashion you've mentioned in the essay above, blood had to contact an open cut / sore to  transmit the virus in to your body, since there was no skin opening, cut /sore there's no chance whatsoever that you may have contracted the virus.

You can be rest assured, you are safe :)
