Is HIV testing accurate?

About a year ago, I got tested for HIV because I was scared that I possibly had it due to having unprotected sex in January 2006.  I was tested in April 2008.  Came back HIV negative, so according to the tests, I was fine.  Right now, I'm freaked out thinking that the test was false.  I haven't had sex since January 2006.  Right now I'm having these symptoms:

- swollen lymph nodes in both armpits (my guess, they're lumps)
- dry mouth
- loss of appetite
- constantly tired even though I get 8 hours of sleep a night

I was fine aside from the tired part up until Wednesday when the lumps under my armpits appeared and then on Friday I got anxiety thinking it was HIV again and now I feel terrible.  Could the test have been false?

I really hope its accurate.  I'm still going to see my doctor on Monday.  I need to at least find out what these lymph nodes are from.  Maybe I'll get another HIV test... I had to sign something before I had the test, so I'm assuming it's a pretty important and prioritorial test?

your test was reliable and conclusive.

swollen lymph nodes can come from MANY different infections...the least likely to be hiv.

I always get the feeling that the people in the lab either got mine mixed up or just messed up on the test... today i have a sore throat... just reminds me more and more abut HIV =/
